Archie Craig Captures His Tenth British Mixed Open Title
What is it about the BMO that brings the best out of Archie Craig ? That was the question on everyones lips as he won the title for a record 10th time with a superb display of shotmaking in the final on Friday. Certainly many of his skips down the years have wished that he could have brought his BMO form with him when curling for them ! None more so than his opponent in this years final Lockhart Steele who could only marvel at the quality of play from not only Archie but his team of Alex Torrance, Margaret Richardson and Margaret Brown. The final score - a rather one-sided 6 - 1 to Archie. Lockhart's team was Jimmy Raeburn, Emma Craig and Anne Winning.
Earlier Archie had beaten Ian Fleming 6 - 3 and Lockhart overcame Allan Winning 10 - 3 in the semi-finals
